Managing Director

CheckdMedia are looking for a Managing Director to join the team.

Based in Manchester, CheckdMedia is looking for a Managing Director to join a fast growing online media business. The Managing Director is responsible for the overall performance of the company, as prescribed in the Prospectus and financial budget. The Managing Director reports to the CEO and board of directors.

Job Purpose

Commercial: To assist the Commercial Director to develop, lead and manage all day to day commercial activities of the business

Products & Technology: To lead implementation of the company’s product and technology strategy

Risk & Compliance: To ensure all aspects of the company’s business activities meets the necessary standards of compliance and governance with Gambling industry legislation

People: To develop the organisation structure and people to enable the business to meet growth targets

Leadership: To be a leader in the business, driving a professional and performance oriented progressive culture

Board member: To work as a collaborative member of the board


Key third party relationships: Working closely with the board, Commercial Director and Marketing Director to manage key relationships (existing and new), improving turnover & profitability

New Business: Working closely with the Marketing Director to deliver new business initiatives

PR: Representing the company externally at networking events, conferences and exhibitions to enhance and strengthen the company’s brand and profile

Scalability: Looking for opportunities to increase efficiencies and speed up processes across the business as growth is achieved

Market: Maintaining an awareness of external factors (including competitors, government initiatives/proposed legislation) which impact the business


Growth: To ensure that profitable business growth and commercial success is achieved to meet the business targets

Financial: To deliver the financial results detailed in the budget

Operations: Assuming full accountability to the board for performance of all company operations

Governance: Reporting results to the board on a monthly and quarterly basis

Culture: To ensure that the operating objectives and performance standards are not only understood but owned by all employees
