In my role as Website Manager for one of our most successful sports brands, I'm responsible for the delivery of the content strategy with around 400+ articles being produced a month. I also work closely with the social media team creating & sourcing relevant, engaging content to push out on our various social channels.
Who inspires you in business?
He can be someone who splits opinion but I think Eddie Hearn is someone who deserves an awful lot of credit. What he and Matchroom Sport has done for British boxing is quite incredible, with it looking in the best shape it has done for some time. I also follow the darts closely and in his role as a director of the PDC he's played a major part in it becoming one of the most watched sports in this country. An example of this is the Premier League which is now one of the most in-demand sporting events in the UK and now Europe, with fixtures taking place in Berlin and Amsterdam.
What has been your biggest achievement in your career?
Before I joined CheckdMedia in May 2016 I graduated in Sport Journalism at the University of Huddersfield so it's great for me to really put my degree to good use everyday. I began as a Content Writer so I'm really proud to have made the jump up to Website Manager, especially with it being on our football brand as it's something that I'm extremely passionate about.
Another highlight for me since joining the team was the release of one of our new websites last summer. I spent a lot of time working very closely with the designers, Product Development & SEO teams to get this one over the line and it's been a big success so far - another thing that I'm pretty proud of!
What do you do in your spare time?
I love football so living in Manchester is ideal with so much going on. I'm a big Grimsby Town fan (someone has to be) so I try get back home as much as possible to visit Blundell Park. Music is another massive interest of mine as I love going to festival and events, it's also a great way of teaming up with my friends from uni. I really enjoy travelling and I have my next trip to Asia planned for the summer which I'm really looking forward to. Aside from that I'm training for my first ever half marathon at the Great Manchester Run in May - wish me luck!
